7th-grade Humanities class has been learning about Africa where students were divided into groups to read a novel about Africa. Each Novel focused on an African teenager in different regions of Africa. The stories included some modern day issues in Africa including: AIDS, child soldiers, and struggles for water.
Then, students designed over 900 crafts to be sold at the Tri-Kappa Christmas Boutique. Over 30 students partnered with Tri Kappa members and helped run the Christmas Boutique. Tri Kappa donated $500 for our students to put towards an initiative in Africa to make a difference in one of the regions studied. The classes voted to donate the money to help build in a well in the drier areas of Africa!
