Boys' Track and Field Press Release!

DeKalb vs. Woodside vs. New Haven – Varsity Track & Field Results

The DeKalb Middle School Boys' Varsity track and field team split a triangular meet last night at New Haven, defeating Woodside Middle School but losing to New Haven Middle School. The race for first was extremely close, with New Haven scoring 57 points to DeKalb’s 55.5 points. Woodside was a distant 3rd place with 23.5 points. DeKalb’s first place finishers were Matt Anderson in the 1600 M and 800 M runs, Dion Urbina in both the shot put and the discus, Josiah Somkit in the Pole Vault, and the 4 x 400 M Relay team of Hunter Jack, Trever Meyer, Jon Bell, and Bryce Handshoe. Second place finishers for the Patriots were Evan Moriarity in the 100 M Dash and the Shot Put, Bailey Odier in the 1600 M Run, Bryce Handshoe in the 400 M Run, and Josiah Somkit in the Long Jump. Third Place finishers for the Patriots were Cole Althouse in the 110 M Hurdles and Hunter Jack in the 200 M Dash. Fourth place finishers for DeKalb were Josiah Somkit in the 110 M Hurdles and the Discus throw, Lukaas Roller in the 800 M Run, and Carter Lantz in the Long Jump. The Patriots will be back in action on Monday, April 28th when they host a dual meet against Angola Middle School. The meet will begin at 5:00 p.m.
