On Thursday the Lady Patriot soccer team traveled to Maple Creek for their second game of the season. It was an NHMLC championship rematch from last season. The Lady Patriots tied the Bobcats 1-1. With 23 minutes to go in the first half, DeKalbs Madysen Snyder dribbled the ball up the outside and sent a perfect cross into the box. Kendyl Smith collected the ball outside of the 18 yard box and shot to ball into the upper corner for a 1-0 lead! Maple Creek caught a break with just under 8 minutes to go in the half as a shot went off the hands of DeKalb goal keeper Erica Bolinger and a rebound was put into the corner of the net. The game was tied 1-1 at half. With many scoring chances in the second half for both teams, neither could capitalize. Erica Bolinger and Ashton Blaha combined for 6 saves. The Lady Patriots travel to Blackhawk Christian Monday.
