Girls' Track and Field Press Release!

The DeKalb Middle School Varsity track team upped their season record to 8-1 by defeating two tough conference teams, Summit and Indian Springs, at a meet on Monday, April 30th at Indian Springs Middle School.  The score of the meet was DeKalb 66 - Summit 20 - Indian Springs 45.  The Patriots have one final regular season meet on Wednesday, May 7th at Maple Creek starting at5:00 pm before competing in the Conference Track meet at New Haven onSaturday, May 10th starting at 10:00 am. The first place finishers were Tyler Schwartz with 1600 meter (breaking her own school record of 5:35 running it ins 5:32) and 800 meter. Bethany Kelley with 400 meter. Grace Gorman with High Jump, Long Jump. and Pole Vault. Maddie Day placed first for Discus. The girls that placed second were Maddie Day with Shot Putt. Morgan Spade that did 100 meter hurdles. Tyler Schwartz, Claire Comfort, Bethany Kelley, and Lauren Beckmann with 1600 meter relay. Brooke-destineeLockwood with High Jump, and Bethany Kelley with Long Jump. The girls that placed third place were Sarah Williams with 100 meter hurdles. Bethany Kelly with 100 meter, and Claire Comfort with 400 meter. Allison Marlowe came in third for Long Jump. Shaina Ehmke with Shot Putt and Discus.  The girls that placed fourth place were Allison Marlowe with Shot Putt, 100 meter hurdles, and tied for High Jump. Sara Muckenfuss that tied for the High Jump. Abigail Lynch that placed fourth for Long Jump.
