We had an awesome week in Morning Meeting! Student Council introduced themselves on Teamwork Tuesday, Mrs. Utnage shared with us on Wisdom Wednesday, we heard LOTS of compliments on Thankful Thursday, and today Mrs. Haydl was named as our first Marigold of the year!

The Marigold Award is a staff nominated award given to DMS staff who encourage and support one another. This was the nomination written about her:

Her work ethic, caring attitude towards students and colleagues, and her commitment to excellence make working with this teacher a joy and honor daily!

Because I have had the chance to work with her, I have become a more confident and knowledgeable teacher. Her organization is unmatched, and nothing would be as successful as it is if it were not for her. She cares deeply about our art and the students we teach. I could not ask for a better colleague to work with every day.

Portrait Pursuit Competition: Each month we focus on a Portrait of a Baron Competency. This month we are focusing on COMMUNICATION.

Friday, September 19 in SST, students will be given the opportunity to exhibit their INTRODUCTION SKILLS. They have been practicing introducing themselves with eye contact, a firm handshake, and confidently saying their names.

Friday, they will have a fun competition practicing these skills! We are excited to see how our first competition goes!

We've been encouraging students to be ON TIME TO CLASS! We want our students to know how important it is to be in class the entire period because learning is important!

Please encourage your student to work on timeliness! These are skills we are helping students develop as they prepare for high school!
