Student Council

The purpose of DeKalb Middle School’s Student Council is to promote school spirit, provide for student expression of the school's activities, and promote the general welfare of the student and the school. Members develop leadership by organizing and carrying out school activities and service projects.

The structure of the Student Council shall simulate that of the State and National Governments. It shall have a Student Body President, a Senate, and a House of Representatives, all elected by and from the Student Body of DeKalb Middle School.

The office of Student Body President will be filled from the present seventh grade by a student who will be an eighth grader for his/her term of office.

Two Senators will be elected from each grade.

The election of Representatives (one (1) from each Homeroom) is held within one month after the start of school year, after the Senate election.
