Choir

DeKalb Middle School offers choir for 6th, 7th, and 8th-grade students with different required mastery at each level.  

Sixth-grade choir focuses on basic vocal technique and music reading skills, performance skills, ear training and basic composition.  Seventh and eighth-grade choirs are intermediate and advanced levels of these concepts. Students also have an opportunity to participate in the ISSMA vocal competitions, which allow them to further advance their vocal skill. No auditions are required for these classes.  

All students are required to sing at two performance each year with one performance in the winter and one in the spring.
