Physical Education (High School Credit)

Physical Education is open to 8th-grade students who want to earn a high school PE credit.  The objective is to promote a healthy lifestyle and to remain physically active for a lifetime.  The skills learned in this class are all centered towards meeting that objective.


The program includes health-related fitness activities (cardiorespiratory endurance, muscular strength and endurance, flexibility, and body composition), aerobic exercise, team sports, individual and dual sports, outdoor pursuits, and recreational games. Students will also have an introduction to body systems and fitness principles. Ongoing assessments include both written and performance-based skill evaluations.

Activities will include but are not limited to: Ultimate Frisbee, Rhythms, basketball, handball, soccer, and track and field.
